After yesterday’s really long trip we woke up at around 10 am, went down to the local store, bought some ingredients and made shaksuka as an Israeli breakfast for our awesome hosts.
Ilka took us around a nice park in Cologne, which I believe is called Stadtgarten. It’s rather big, very green and has a nice view of the city.
We got back to Ilka’s apartment to get our luggage and then went to the train station. We said goodbye to Ilka, whom I already miss and statistically I will meet again in two years (though I hope to see her again in Berlin :)).
From there we took the train to Berlin. We had 1st class tickets (they cost almost the same as regular ones) which allowed more room for the legs and electricity to use the internet (and write blog posts :)).
We reached Berlin quite late and started looking for my friend’s apartment. It wasn’t easy. The house numbering system makes no sense (or perhaps, as our taxi driver has said, there is no system). When we reached the house we found out there are few different entrances behind an inner door. And then it started raining, in August!
That’s how it starts. Halo Berlin!
