After some long months of working, I’m finally back on touring, and even cycling 🙂 Me and my friend Yoni are cycling the Loire a Velo, a rather new cycling route along the Loire valley in France.
The first day was mostly about arrival. We landed in Paris, then took metros and trains to arrive in Orleans. The town has a nice church and not much beyond.
Today our cycling trip actually started. After renting the bicycles, we left Orleans quite late and cycled along the Loire river. We started seeing beautiful views of the river, that had some random sand “islands” along it.
After 30 kilometers of riding, we arrived at Beaugency. We planned to see the city itself, when Yoni recognized I had a flat tire. Well, for two computer geeks who had never fixed a bicycle flat tire before, it took 3 hours. Yeah. Apparently the alternative tube also had a hole in it.
So 3 hours later we found some hotel to sleep in, had dinner and went to sleep after a long day yet very short cycle.
