I flew to Munich over the night. I had some time to spare while waiting in line in the airport, or waiting for the time of my bus from Munich to Salzburg. So I spent it… Learning some Czech 🙂
For the first few hours I had two goals in mind:
1) learn extremely basic phrases – such as thank you, my name is, how much does that cost… And the very important “Do you speak English?” Things that I will definitely need when in Czech.
2) create a short script about myself. Since the first talk with someone is quite predictable, and usually includes providing basic information about myself (age, profession, homeland etc) – I decided to create a script and study it well.
For now, I have created the script and sent it to a Czech friend over Facebook for verification.
I also created flashcards for the phrases, and I know some of them well.
In addition, I watched a video explaining how to pronounce the notorious ř. I wanted to get it right (or close enough) straight from the start, to avoid getting used to saying it in a wrong way.
I’ll try to post a video of my progress soon. Wish me luck 🙂
