Tauernradweg Day 6 – Taxenbach to Werfen

Another special day… It included ravines and a castle. Oh, and the ordinary awesome views of the surroundings 🙂

Our morning started with a short walk / hike to ravines that reside near Taxenbach. It was quite cool to see, and very different from the views that surrounded us in the past few days.

We then got back to our Pension to collect our bags and headed to the train station. Our book guide advised to skip riding the following few kilometers, so we followed its advice and used the train. Then, the path was really beautiful, with high mountains surrounding us all the time.

The valley was getting narrow, and the Salzach river was growing wider…
We finally arrived at Werfen, our destination for today. We cycled quickly and made it on time to the last guided tour into the Werfen castle. From the castle we had a stunning view over the valley, and the tour itself was also cool, leading us through the different rooms and facilities of the castle.

By the end of the tour we were getting hungry, so we went to our hotel and left for dinner after a short shower. Wow, our last night of the Tauernradweg. How quickly did that go?!
