After yesterday’s tiring hike, we woke up relatively late to have a rather relaxed day. On our way to Jasper, we saw sheep climbing down the mountains and getting close to us.
We arrived in Jasper, and found out there isn’t much to see there, specifically not as much as there is to see in Banff. We went to The Valley of Five Lakes, a short hike that was quite muddy given the rain. The trail features, well, five lakes 🙂
We then went to Miette Hot Springs. It was such an incredible experience! You enjoy the heat of the water while the outside is chill. What a great end of the day.
On the next day we drove to Maligne Canyon and walked a short part of it. It’s actually a cool, deep canyon.
We then stopped by Medicine Lake with its impressive background of mountains.
We then went to the beautiful Maligne Lake.
The most beautiful spot on the lake, and definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen, is Spirit Island. The only problem is that it takes a quite expensive boat tour to get there. Well, we took it.
The way there and back was also quite fun 🙂
We then had a great dinner at the Downstream Lounge in Jasper. Afterwards, something odd happened. As I dislike the coffee served in the States and Canada (at least in most places), I haven’t drunk coffee for two and a half weeks, which is a LOT for me. Oddly enough, I found a laundry place, with a real barista and real coffee.
On our way to Miette Hot Springs (yes, we went there again…) we were lucky enough to spot a male Moose going after many female Moose.
Attending Miette Hot Springs again was a great goodbye to Jasper in particular, and the Rocky Mountains in general.
